i ordered one should be here next week i`ll let you know. I talked to the guy that makes them and he said i should see around 105hp increase to the tires. The install is very simple only takes about 10 min. I know because the first 18k module they sent me didnt work, so i sent it back today. I bought it because i drive 55 miles one way to work and they claim a 30% mpg increase. That would be about 5-6 mpg for me and that would put me over 20mpg. If you can wait about a week i will post up thread on it!
if the 18kmod is the same thing as the 10k mod then it is a simple mode but im not so sure about it putting out 100+ ponies thats kinda out their im sure u can pull that of with a Dp-tuner but i made my own 10k mode very basic went to radioshack and bought a 10k resistor a holding box and used some 16 gauge wire and soldered everything together and hooked it up to the to one of the lines on the ICP i belive their is info on here on how to do it ... Just go for the search their is different ways of doing the mod out of all ive seen i like kwiks way
PS- i ended up paing 99cents for 10k-Ohm resistors and like $3.50 for the box i placed the resistor in...
I ran a homemade version of the 18K mod for a while. All it does is fool what the PCM sees from the ICP sensor. Gives it a lower reading, so the PCM calls for more high oil pressure. The amount of power you can gain is solely dependent on the health of your HPOP. Expect 40-60hp extra.
While running it, I saw zero gain in fuel mileage. So don't expect a 30% increase, or anything remotely close to it.
The 18k mod is fun to play with, but it does not modify fuel tables, shift points, etc to take advantage of the higher oil pressure. If you want more power with better manners, get a chip.
the 18K mod is basically a 10K mod except it uses a potet....potion... potentionometer(sp) ah heck, a radio volume switch, and a Reed switch plus the larger resistor. The thing is the more you turn the twisty **** the worse the idle gets, but the more oil the IPR (higher pressure) to the injectors Look here for a good write up on the 10K and go thtough his home page for a write up on the DIODE Clamp mod. http://www.forgotton.net/mods/indexframe.html
