Hard Start

My 2002 psd cranks over several revoltions before it starts. I would say at least three times more revoltions than my other 2002 psd or my 95 psd. Air temp doesn't change it. Starting right after shutting off doesn't change anything either. Other wise I think everything works right.
I would appreciate any and all HELP on this.
THANK YOU tony

How old is the oil? How old are the batteries? Have you checked the oil level in the HPOP?

You've got some issues. That's way to long.

How many seconds are you talking about? Mine usually starts in 1-2 seconds. If its cool and I don't allow time for the WTS light to go off, it my take 3 seconds. I don't know that it has ever taking longer than that unless there was anothern problem going on.

I would say at any time app. 70 deg. MY 95 and my other 2002 will start in 1-2 seconds. My 2002 that is in question here will take 5-7 seconds. It takes long enough that I'm usally letting off the key and try again. The second time it akes just as long. The reason I usally try it twice is because I forget which pick-up I'm in and I let off before it starts. 95 psd ---148,000. 2002 psd---51,000. 2002 that gives trouble has 72,000 miles on it.

how long have you had this problem
and batteries mentioned before, a battery that is not really good or completely bad will cause a slower start

I just bought this one about three months ago. The cranking speed seems to be as fast and good as my other 7.3 psd.
