Has anyone tried one of these in their 5.4? I got a brochure that claims a 20% increace by this Tornado fuel saver device on the 5.4 engine.

Uh ya... Take the brochure and use if for kindling… you’ll never see anything like that if your lucky enough to see anything at all, especially on a fuel injected truck.

You can be almost certain that such a dramatic claim is a total lie.

In some cases tests of these Silver Bullet miracle devices have actually increased fuel consumption, most do nothing at all other than separate you from your hard earned cash.

Even 'MythBusters' got into the act confirming the thriving Snake Oil market in worthless add ons.

Unless it's carbed or throttle body injected it's a waste of money. I used to have a customer at an old job that went from 6 to 9mpg on his GM dually with a 454 using one of those. That's the only positive experience I've ever had first hand knowledge of.

Thats about what I figured. It seems like the brochure is just trying to suck me in, but just though I'd see if anybody had acutally used one.

The automobile manufacturers spend millions of dollars trying to get their average fuel economy numbers up. If it was that easy they'd all be doing it.

Lighter wallet = less weight for the engine to pull = better mileage
