yes if you get the banks twin ram and the banks turbo outlet pipe, 7.3 superduty pipes and a 6.0 cooler you can make it work but the pipe still need some modding. the driverside pipe is flipped end for end and 4 or so inch added to the top end near the turbo. the passenger side pipe is the one that takes the most fab work. I built mine from one 7.3 superduty drivers side and passenger side pipe frankenstined together.
you are also correct about the Boyer kit. Its doesn't sound like the mounted brackets are included. the biggest hurdles in the IC install is the y-pipe and fitting the cooler its self. tubes took me no longer than 2 hours and 1 hours was pure welding. didn't take long to mock up at all. there are many different ways to come up with all your parts. it depends on how much time, skill and money you have as to which way you go.

I'm about to order the Banks pipe kit, probably from Boyer for $580. The Boyer kit includes the y pipe/Twin Ram, turbo outlet, IC tubes, four boots and eight clamps. No brackets. The Banks kit includes all kinds of brackets for the IC, trans cooler, rubber air dams, etc, etc., stuff we don't really need to put in another cooler. Banks price for just the hard parts is $194 for the Twin Ram, $112 for the turbo outlet, and $94 each for the tubes, total $494. So, Boyer is getting $86 for the 4 boots and 8 clamps which sounds reasonable.

I saved a few bucks by not getting all the stuff from banks, and just the nessisary hardware, I had the hookups at a Frieghtliner dealership so I got discounts on all the clamps and other related hardware, just got pipes and had to get banks boots too, damn semi's don't use 3" intake stuff, mostly 4" or 5"!!!

Yes I made my own brackets, just used some 1" x 1/8thick flat steel for the top supports using some old rubber shock bushings I had, and then welded up some pieces using the 1" x 1/8thick flats and 1"x1" angle iron mounted to the body, not the frame. I've seen where people mount to the frame, but this is not a good idea since the body is mounted on isolators for a reason!!
