I am not aware of the 300I6 coming with a 4r70 trans, it's my thinking the motor was discontinued before switching the trucks to the 4r70/4r100 transmissions(about 1997.) I am no trans expert, but I would expect the trans to be either a E4OD or AODE. One of those is very similar to a 4r70.
If the ECM was attached to the harness, I wouldn't expect someone to pull it and replace it at a junk yard. The older ECMs were not EEPROMs, so you would have to do some work to reprogram it, but it is possible.
Sorry is my fault, yes you are right, the tranny I'm talking about is AODE wich is very similar to 4R70W.
I did not take jet a close look under truck, but it looks like an AODE not E4OD. 1995 trucks use different ECM pin pattern than previous years? when EECIV was discontinued?
EEC-IV was stopped in 95 because in 96 legislation said everyone had to use OBD2. EEC-V is the OBD2 compliant computer. Pinout is probably different for every year, just enough to make it year specific, but not enough that couldn't overcome.
