MKO installed, new question

I must say, in the "sounds cool" department this thing knocks my socks off. "Butt Dyno" feels a noticeable difference as well! I hear the turbo hiss constantly now. I have a new question....the ol' helicopter noise. Sounds like a helicopter at powerdown maybe? I only really notice it around 50-55 while I have slight pressure on the throttle tp keep me goimg. The pipe is too loud under accel for me to notice it. Is this the infamous surge that the WW will fix? Also, anyone else with a 5" get a bit of raspy noise driving next to a high curb?

Do you have gauges? The drop in EGT's after I installed my MKO 5' amazed me.

As far as the 'chopping' sound you hear, I hear it at all speeds, esp when passing buildings, retaining walls, etc. The more you get into it, the more it turns into a nice whistle- at least for me.

Nope, gauges are next. Yeah, I noticed it more today after the initial "Man I love this exhaust" wore of a bit. I did the 10K also and was amazed at the difference. I really enjoy watching the trip computer mpg creep up too. Thanks for all the help!

Sounds sweet! Did you go with a muffler? Do you have any pics? I was wondering if a 5 inch with muffler would flow just as well as a 4 inch with no muffler, and what the difference in sound would be?

I went with the straight pipe. I couldn't answer the flow question, but I've read here that some folks don't like the sound of the high flow mufflers. It really does sound awesome with the straight pipe kit and for under $400 you can't beat it. I need to figure out this gallery thing and I'll get pics posted. Maybe this weekend.

I don't have any hard numbers to answer the flow question, but....

I got the 'straight-through' type muffler with my 5' MKO system, and I can tell you that just by looking into one end of that thing, I can't imagine that there would be much backpressure at all to impede exhaust flow.

I went with the muffler because I thought it might cut down on turbo drone while towing the camper on long trips with the kids. Muffler or not, it is still loud as he!!. Lots of whistle too.
