A few times over a the weekend,, and then a few times last night I'm driving with wipers off,, and they just went on by themselfs. only for one swipe, I didnt touch the switch,, then of corse today it didnt happen at all. Its very random.
I remember reading somewhere that this is a common issue with these trucks, did ford have a bullitan on them? What is the fix?..... I can handle most all basicy stuff myself but at electrical prob is a little over my head, if I gets worse/ more frequient Im afraid I'm going to have to turn to a dealer.
Ryan,
I too have a '99 F150, and my wipers do the same thing. I've only owned the truck for a yr, and they've done it since I've had it. sometimes it will go for a month or so before 'swiping' once. until something else goes wrong - I'm just gonna put up with it.... it's cheaper this way.
Ford had a recall on the wiper motor cover in 01. I took mine in and had the cover replaced it was something to do with the grease being used in the covers that would cause a short every now and then and the wipers would cycle.
