Hello, can anyone help? I have an 86 f150 "PLAIN JANE" model! NO BELLS OR WHISTLES, or intermitent wipers! I tried changing the wiper switch but there was a plastic triangular pin (probably a guide pin) on the new switch preventing me from mating it to the old plug. I removed the triangle piece and it went on fine. When I turned on the wipers all I got was very slow movement and on intermitent they moved once then stopped for good. No other positions on the new switch would move the wipers. So I reinstalled the old switch and I'm back to turning the stupid **** every few seconds! Its driving me NUTS!!! What must I do to get a working intermitent wiper system????
The reason for that index is that you're not supposed to plug the truck wiring into the intermittent switch. The interval governor goes between the 2. Look in the truck parts photo album in my signature link and you'll see a few of them. The black connector goes to the truck, and the red connector goes to the interval switch.
I know - he said he pulled the index out of the interval switch so he could fit the non-interval plug into it. That's why I said he needs the interval governor between them.
