CD Error

CD Error
The six disc CD player in my 2005 says "CD ERROR" when I try to switch to CD operation. Also when I try to eject the CD it says "NO CD"
The player has done this since my son tried to load a CD to play - the CD went into the player; but, has said "CD ERROR" since.
Does anyone know how to get the CD out?

Remove power to the cd player/radio for 5 minutes and reinstall. I recall an old post where this fixed someones. I had to remove the radio and dismantle it to get a burned cd out of a ZX3 Focus(2003). It didn't like that cd. Edit: remove fuse to remove power.
