CD Player says CD Error and DVDs sticking
Hello,
I am sure that this question has been asked a lot. I have been trying to search for an answer, but I'm not seeing what I am looking for.
My CD player has 5 cds stuck inside it, and whenever you click on one of the buttons, it just says CD Error. I talked to the dealership and they said they would have to pull the whole CD changer/radio out of the dash to get the CDs out. I called a place that works on radios and they said that they would tear the radio out and basically trash it getting the CDs out.
I have seen that some people have said unhook your battery cables for 30 minutes and it will reset the radio. Others have said doing this could cause your radio to not work. Is this something might work to get the radio to let the CDs out? At this point, I think the problem is that I have a couple CDs that were not "store bought" in there, and I am wondering if they are causing the issue.
For the DVD player, the DVD will get caught inside. I have to stick something in the player when I hit eject to get them out. Has anyone else had this issue?
We are going on a long trip (to the kids) shortly, and I would like to have the DVD player working for them, and I'd like to listen to some CDs for this drive.
Can anyone help me out? I'd really appreciate it. Am I looking at having to replace my stereo?
The dealership is telling me $120 an hour and looking at several hours work to get this fixed.
Thanks
Nathan
