issues with cd player. please help

Have n 03 X eddie bauer 6.0. Its the factory in dash 6 disc cd player. Issue is when tryck is running and 7 hit cd button it says cd error. Wont eject or load disc. When u turn off truck n turn to on position then hit the cd button it says initializing n u can hear it doin something. When thats done then i hit eject, load, or cd buttons says error. If anyone can help id greatly appreciate it. Really like factory look inside instead of after market stereos, and dont want to not b able to use steering wheel audio buttons cause of having to get a new deck. Hopefully someone can help me figure this out.

Not that I have the cash for one now, but what unit is that and how did you get the steering wheel controls to work?

That's just an older pioneer, they sell the adapter for all radios to our ford system. There are a few threads here on wiring.

To the OP: I'm no expert here, but the problem is likely that the cd transport mechanism inside is broken and is pretty much trash. IIRC, it's plastic, and they don't do well after many years in a hot car, as well as just many years of use. It'll cost around $300.00 (last time I checked), but if you send it back to Electra-Sound in Parma OH they can fix it. Their phone number is 1-800-252-4200. By the way... don't try to fix it yourself first or remove the stock disc(s), as they will probably charge you more to un-mess-up whatever you mess up in doing so. Just tell them you want your discs back.
