Question Coolant filter install

Hey guys, Does anybody have info on hooking up inlet and outlet lines for a coolant filter setup for a 2000 7.3. I want it to be a bypass system, so I don't want a restriction in the flow . If anybody has pics of a similar system it would greatly appreciated. Thanks again!

IIRC, it simply goes between the port on the driver's side of the water pump to the degas bottle via a tee in the line (also in the driver's side of the bottle). I haven't gotten mine yet, but that's one of the next things I'm installing.

Easy connections. Many have installed a new 205º thermostat and replaced the housing while adding a bypass filter while the coolant level has been lowered for the install.
Look HERE

Thanks Izzy, So what your saying is to hook up the port off the pump as the outflow to input on the filter housing and from the outlet on the housing to the inlet on the de-gas bottle. This will act as a bypass system and will not disrupt the flow to the system?

My idea of how to do the coolant bypass is in my gallery.

It keeps it out of the engine compartment, where there's already precious-little room for things.

that's right -- if you look at the link guzzle posted, it's very straight forward...

When i had my return for my coolant filter routed to my degas bottle, it seemed like it took an awful long time for the coolant to warm up, especially in the winter time. When the engine was fully hot, sitting idle (in line for the dyno) my temps almost went back down to cold on the needle. This was because the filter completely bypassed the thermostat, it took hot engine water and put it back into the cold radiator. And for the imbalance of water flow, the pump then brought in water from the lower radiator hose, which completely bypassed the thermostat and made it seem like a car with a stuck thermosat. I took advice from someone, i dont know who, and teed into the heater hose return line going back in the top of the water pump. Things work good now, the engine heats up like it should, and the filter gets very hot, so i know it's flowing water.
