im getting ready to install my coolant filter system, but i have a dilemma...
i DONT want the filter/filter base in my engine bay (unless i HAVE to do it.)
so my question is... does the coolant system (water pump) have enough pressure to be able to mount the filter on the frame, lets say mid door and be able to return to coolant to the degass bottle?
i will be running the feed line to the filter from the 3/8 port on the water pump
i have a ranch hand bumper, id like to conceal the filter as much as possible (just inscase some butthole decides to losen it) and the ranch hand is a very open bumper
Yes, the system has the pressure to push coolant clear to the back bumper if you want. The system will have the same pressure all the way through it, just lower flow through one section, the coolant filter loop.
There is no restriction after you get past the filter base, so the return will flow easily.
Suggestion: If you are going to place the filter that low and far away from the pump, put valves on the head. Otherwise, every time you change the filter, you will lose big amounts of coolant.
