tranny tag decoding
I have a 1985 f150 w/300 engine. It has an unidentified 4 speed manual tranny locked in 1st. The ID tag reads rts aki cf9 e4tr na 0850. case stamping is eatr 7008 aa c2604877. There is no pto cover on either side. and has a bolt on bell housing and tail housing(long) with speedometer cable attached to tail housing. Electrical switch attaches in front of shifter. Any help Id'ing this tranny would be greatly appreciated.

Internal or external linkage? Was this geared like a three speed with 4th over? Or was first low with 4th direct?
Sounds like a 4 speed OD, could be the single rail OD as those were in pickups mostly.

Don't know about the gearing. Internal linkage. Tranny was locked in first when I got the truck. Shifter is 4 speed with reverse down to the right. Looks like T-18 but has no PTO cover on either side and casting # does'nt match that of T-18
