Im thinking about doing this mod but am unsure on how long the 4" pipe should be and does it need to be bent at all?

2 ways to do it, you can do the crankcase mod and attach it at the old location for the vent or get the sd connection and you only need a 2 incer to make the coupler, either way the air filter sits where your old box was

you can get the filters at stores other than napa as well, the magic number to ask for is 6637, carquest had it for around $40 but their number is a little different 546637. It was the same exact filter that you get from napa. I used a 45 degree 4 inch OD bent pipe with 6 inches each side of the bend, carquest had that too. I cut about 2 or 3 inches off one end and used the "waste" to connect a tymar to my 2000 psd. two for one!
