where can i get a replacement filter for they tymar intake on my 01 psd i used to have the number off the box the last filter cam in but i was hoping to go to my local truck stop and get a replacement instead of ordering one. thanks
well, if you have to have one right now, you can get them at Napa for $40 or so, part 6637. dont tell them what it's off of, because they don't know what a Tymar intake is. just say you need 6637, thank you.
or, if you can wait a few days, www.fleetfilter.com has them for half the price but part 46637.
Are These Napa and Fleet air filters the same at the Tymar ones? Better? Worse? How long do the Tymar filters supposed to last. Mine has lasted about a year or so. It is getting a little gray and I think I need to replace it. Not sure though. Let me know.

I use the 6637 in mine. It is the same filter. I generally change mine every 10000 miles or so.
well, with the massive surface area of these filters, the fact that it turns gray means nothing about causing an air inlet restriction above factory spec. i would say if you dont offroad every weekend in the dust, then 50K miles is what i would say that it should be changed. that is, unless i get tired of looking at a gray filter, and want a white one. what, $20?
rule of thumb, take it off and look in through the filter neck. if you can see sunlight, then it's still good. when you can look at the sun through the filter and not see light, it's time to replace.
