This Ac in my truck leaves much to be desired. That being said, I've gotten the best performance out of mine by using the "regular ac" setting, not max and closing off the outside air by pushing the the recirculate button. You would think this would be the same as the max setting but it cools off the cabin noticeably quicker then the actual max ac setting. The only explanation that I've gotten is that the ac compressors in these trucks are much too small and the max ac setting taxes the compressor too much where as the regular setting doesn't.
I can only use recircultaing when on AC Max. Turn it to AC and recirc. light goes off.

You should be able to push the recirc button to turn it back on. At least thats how mine is.
I'll try this regular a/c with the recirc button on the way home from work.
I am not sure if the AC units need breaking in or not, but now that I have 12,000 miles on my truck it will drive me out of it if I am not careful. Last year with lower miliage it just seemed mediocre. It gets really cold, now. It has been 110 to 116 here in Vegas, and no problems.
I get the best performance out of my '06 SuperCrew by setting it to 60 degrees, hitting the auto button, then hitting the recirc button then the top face vent button (the one that gives the guy sitting with the arrow pointed at his face icon). This works better than just using the auto function.
I have an 06 Lariat 5.4 and dont have any complaints with it. It has the climate control on it I usually start out at like 70 and before i know it its freezing me out. Take a look at the owners manual too there are a bunch of tips on how to use your A/C the right way. Saw a lot of posts in here that have it opposite of what the manual says...
I also have as 60screw and noticed it did not cool as cold so took it in to the dealer and they told me it was a couple of ounces low on r134, and what a freaking diffrence, this happened when the truck was 2wks old. I still have the problem with the eatc not turning on until the truck starts to move.(ac compressor clicking on and off until truck starts to move.)
Thanks for the info krane operator, I had an appointment to have mine looked at today but I cancelled it after reading all these posts. I think I may have them look at the freon levels just in case.
