Now that I have had my 04 EB into the colder months I have a question. Why is it that when I start the car and the outside temp is 35 degrees and the heat is set at 80, that the A/C light comes on?
I would assume that you have the defroster or defroster/floor on which turns on the a/c so it removes the moisture from the air so you don't fog up. My .02 bucks worth.
Mine does that too. It's normal. I keep mine in auto mode.
If you notice (if you have a garage) when you first back it out on a cold morning the light will be on but once it gets to the lower 20s the light will turn off. I think it happens at 24 degrees.
I guess they figure there is little need for moisture removal at that point.
I was driving my wifes 03 today and I noticed in Auto mode with it being 25 outside and the setting at 80, I noticed the air not being very hot at all, so I messed around and bumped it to 90, no change. I then hit the UP arrow to manually force the air out faster no change....until I selected one of the options to blow air out of the top vents...then the A/C light came on, and hot air came out. Is this how its supposed to work? I drive a Nissan Maxima and when I'm on Auto it kicks out hot air and stays on max, until the temp in the car stabilizes, then it gradually kicks the fan down.
