Driver's side power window motor

OK, I tried slamming the door thing, still no go. So, the motor can work in the "up" direction, and not in the "down"?
Looking like the is going to be my solution, although in the interim of getting a motor, I might try to pull it and see if I can go the cleaning route.

Well.......new motor....same problem. I am baffled! 12.4 v. to the motor harness, in both UP and DOWN switch positions, swapped out relays with another relay that was working passenger side, motor runs fine on the UP mode, nothing on down. Freewheeling, not installed. I can move the glass by hand, so not an issue.WTH is going on???
