Power Window Problems

My brother has a 2004 F-250 XLT Crew Cab 4x4. Two weeks ago the window motor appeared to stop working and the window just stayed in the down position. We ordered a new motor for it, and the thing still won't go up. I have hooked the motor to different windows and it functions properly. I have moved the switch to different windows and they function properly with the switch, i have even moved the motor and switch together to another window and they work. Using a test light (I know... I should be using a volt meter) I can see that I have power going to the motor when it should - onside is hot at a time - demonstating the circuit should be working properly. Has any one else come across this??? PLEASE HELP - MY BROTHER DOESNT WANT TO BE RAPED BY THE DEALER AGAIN. He recently had to replace his transfer case at a cost of 1300$$.. thanks again.

The problem may be in the express down module. I had a problem like that. If I put the window part way down,it would go back up, but all the way down it would not work in the up position. Replaced module, works fine. doug-j

do you have the part number and price for the express down module? also where is it located?

I am having a problem where the driver's window will not go up unless I press the button a few times. It seems to happen more after I use the express down option. My switch was replaced last year under warranty due to a burnt out light. I'm out of warranty now. I'm thinking it's a matter of time before it won't go back up at all.

well, I just troubleshooted my own problem. another guy at work here has a newer Screw like mine. I pulled out his window switch and hooked it up to my truck. Everything works great. So, the contact or something in my window switch must be going bad, so I'm just going to get a new switch.

switch

I think the window switch problem is common. I just had mine replaced under warranty.

what was the cost for you out of pocket (if any) im having this exact problem, but i've got a $100 deductible on my ESP, so i might take it somewhere other than the dealer.

or anynew info on this would be helpful, but it seems that im in for a new switch.

I'm out of warranty. I bought the switch from www.getfordparts.com and it cost me $33 plus shipping. However, my current switch hasn't been acting up lately, so I'll just keep my new switch in my console for now and wait to the old one goes bad again. It's simple to replace on your own, just pop off the switch trim plate from the door panel.
