Dennis, is this the same restaurant that asked you to leave when you brought a drink from somewhere else? (That's a thread from a looong while back). The reason I ask is simply that if it is the same place, you have way more forgiveness than I do. After this more recent episode, assuming the same establishment, you are completely in the right.
As far as using the facilities w/out patronizing the business, I do it quite often on my daily commute. Of course, I'm not a gaggle of 9 women clogging up the flow of the restroom for a half hour to the detriment of the paying customers.
No that was place called Chicken Chef. February 14th 2005
They went under 3 months after the altercation with me.
In a Town of 6000 it didn't take long for me to get the word out
June 1st the doors were locked
The owner was wanted by the Provincial Sheriff for evasion of some kind.
I just happened to be next door the day the sheriff was there looking for the owner.
I kindly took the sheriff over to the place where this guy was working so he could be confronted.
This is what I mean about some business people in this town and why a lot of people just go to Red Deer.
These people just shouldn't be in business if they aren't willing to be courteous.
This A&W in question I found out yesterday that his employee turn over rate has been 89% for the last year.
People just don't seem to want to work for him as I constantly see new employees all the time
Anybody with any class would at least buy a small drink to show some appreciation for being allowed to use the facilities. And for a whole harem of hens in a honda to tie up a restroom for 30 minutes is pure stupidity! So,let me know where this A&W is,I figure I need to come up there and order a couple of coney dogs and some ice cream,,then return to their establishment about three hours later and use the restroom. That will sure put a tear in the managers eye without even touching him!But then again, you may not be able to patronize that A&W for a couple of days if I do!
The manager is WRONG and must have short man syndrome. Vote with you money and do not use it anymore. Tell all of your friends about what happened and ask them to not use it anymore.
Go to McDonalds and get yourself a cheeseburger and then walk over to A&W and order a drink. Then proceed to eat your Mickey Ds burger and have their drink. Or better yet, don't even order from A&W. If they wish to keep customers happy, than they shouldn't ask you to leave. If they don't have a problem with the public using the restrooms, than they shouldn't have a problem with the public using the tables/chairs. Especially, if you did actually order something from there.
I would have ripped the manager for ripping me...a paying customer...then I would have put him on notice that he wouldn't have to worry about barring this paying customer as I would never be back. I would also let him know that I would be very diligent in making sure that all my friends and acquaintances knew of management's lack of courtesy toward me.
This is exactly what I would have done, in a rather loud tone of voice.
that is retarded, they parked in the mcdonalds parking lot taking up customer space their, then walked over and used the washrooms for 30 mins and the manager was telling you to stop, wtf is that

I agree this is retarded. our society is full of retarded self indulgent bone heads that dont know the first thing about common courtesy. there is a large force of these nitwits at our local walmart.

Yes. They're called "brain cell challenged", and it's very unfortunate.
It was rude and inconsiderate to monopolize the bathroom. But I dont think there's anything wrong with using the restroom at a gas station or a fast food restaurant and not buying anything. Was there a sign saying restrooms are for paying customers only?

I don't know what retarded (mentally challenged) has to do with it. Most "retarded" folks are not boneheads. They are typically some of the most considerate people one could hope to run into. I certainly wouldn't elevate these Bonehead Barbie Babes to their level.
You were wrong. Mind you own business and let the fast food joint mind theirs. They are a blight on the land anyway, and are just about the only public place you can find a restroom anymore with the decline in so-called service stations and the filth they have for restrooms. So if you don't like it, go elsewhere. But open your mouth in this situation and you invite insult.
Mil1ion, I agree with you, mostly. There is a problem I see, though. Obviously we all seem to agree that the women were rude, especially because they clogged the bathroom for a full half an hour. But unless there was a sign or rule specifically stating that only paying customers could use the restroom, the women didn't do anything that would give management the right to be upset with them. Unfortunatly, these women were not gifted with any common sence or common curticy, because if they were this entire situation would have been avoided in the first place. Yet I think you may have overstepped your boundry by getting on the womens case yourself, seeing as (I am assuming) no other patrons of the restraunt were trying to use the bathroom too. Now, if the women were intentionally blocking the bathroom, or not letting others use it at all untill all 9 were finished their restroom party, then you would have absolutly had a right to step in. There is a fine line, but in this instance I think it would have been best to stay out of it.
On an ending note though, I do appreciate your boldness and your ability to see when people are not acting the way they should, and I do think that in many many cases more peope like you need to step in and correct situations. I just dont feel this was quite one of them.
