You might be right in he could have expected a heated verbal exchange with the gaggle of idiots from the van, but certainly not from the manager.

If he had been by himself perhaps I could see your point. BUT his wife desperately needed to use the rest room, as was evidenced in the outcome. That made it his business.

I sincerely hope you aren't in the service industry. With your current outlook on customers you will not be very successful.

You guys are all forgetting something!!!!

The customer is always right. The women who wen to bathrooms, they were not customers in my mind, they did not buy anything, so your were 100% correct. That manager will see his fate soon, since everything that comes around goes around. Whenever i deal with customers, EVEN if i know I am 100% right, i always let them know they are right since the customer is always right.

One time i got into an arguement at a fast food place because they messed my order up. They said they did not mess up, it was exactly what i ordered. All i wanted was for them to give me what i wanted. They never did and that big mac ended up on their front window. My problem might be when i start my yelling though because when some high school dropout on drugs is trying to tell me what i ordered, and the manage believes this red eyed monkey, it pissed me off.

Write a letter and then tell the BBB about it. I didnt write the letter since i think then they would have pressed charges for vandleism. Writing a letter always worked out for me, except for my laptop, i was kinda upset with Comp-usa about that but oh well.

 

Michele had an urgent need for the washroom.

Remember..... she is 4 time stroke victim and some stuff doesn't register like a normal person.

She needed to pee bad and her period hit at the same time.
She couldn't get anywhere further than opening the door to find 7 of the 9 still in there.

Then, To avoid the embarrassment of showing leakage..she left to go the car and deal with it at home.



IMO> The Manager showed me he couldn't care less about his PAYING customers.
He took the word of a cashier/front end worker that I was harassing his customers.

He flew off the handle before I could explain what had happened.

It was clear after I told him... that in order to save his own face from looking like an idiot..... he still took the stance of warning me about talking to anyone.

This is after I said to him:" So you don't care that 9 people that aren't paying customers use the bathroom and my wife a paying customer can't because of them being in there and with me questioning them about not even considering buying anything..... is quite acceptable to you?

With me trying to get them (3 of the last 4) to at least buy something to show their appreciation for the use of the facilities.

With me spending hundreds of $$$$ in here over the last 3 1/2 years and them not spending anything.....

You are comfortable threathening me the way you just did ?"


He said: "Yes"

He didn't ask me what happened.

He just said: Dennis,I understand you are harrassing my customers.

I said they aren't your customers.

Sorry, my bad, I didn't interpret this correctly the first time, and thanks for the clarification Mil1ion. Now I do think you had a reason, and also a need, to complain. But What I would have reccomended you do ( Keep in mind that I am no diplomatic master and an only 19, so please correct me if I'm wrong) is to speak to the management first, before taking it to the women yourself. Hopefully, the management would have taken care of the problem. However, If the management did nothing at all, or acted indignent after you explain your wifes situation, THEN adress the women. Again, I think it would be best if you tried to explain to them why you feel its a problem that they are hogging the bathroom (It is a problem) and why your wife needed to use the facilities. Again, hopefully they would be understanding enough to comply with your requests. Now, if the women act rude, then by all means take it to them.

It all happened so fast they would have been long gone before the manager got there.

I was 6ft from the doors they were exiting and they were between me and the door.
I waited until the last possible moment to say something to them thinking...they may stop at the counter.

On a personal note ......I have way too much on my plate these days.

I am also writing a letter to the editor of my local paper to get my message across to local people.

Still waiting to hear from A &W though.

Food is better at home anyway

 

I really like that. Please keep us informed. It will be interesting to see if the editor has the gonads to go to print.... Since A & W may advertise with them.

 

Oh, sorry, I must have missed the 9th paragraph out of 11 in the first post, and didn't notice the 8th post clarifying the reason this was an issue. My bad.

But I also don't see anywhere where you asked the moochers to allow use of the facility, or where they, other than by their presence, denied use.

Instead, what I saw is someone mouthing off to some moochers and not getting the result he wanted. Having had that same experience without the underlying justification here, my suggestion was as per my prior post.

However, in light of the additional info I have now gleaned from this thread, I say you were still wrong and went about it the wrong way.

Or did I miss where you politely asked the moochers to allow use, and where you politely asked the manager to intervene on your behalf....???

 

Are you serious.Why should a paying customer have to kiss somebodies butt just to use the restroom.Sounds to me like he handled it pretty good.Me,I would be in jail for kicking the managers a** andthen telling those narrow minded broads what I thought of them.I hope some day someone you are close to suffers public embaressment because of someone elses stupidity,,,on second thought,no I dont,I would not want that to happen to you or anybody else for that matter.The fact is,the manager was a jerk and those women were ignorant!

in the principle aspect your right mil1ion, i agree with you a 100%.

but those people who had to use the restroom just wernt eating there at that moment, doesnt mean that they dont eat thee at all. and they may never visit that chain again. is all. but with your wifes current situation, you will always be extra protective for your wife in any situation, which is a good thing

to me them woman if they had any class, would have been empathetic to your wifes needs.

I was sitting eating looking out the east window toward the McD's parkling lot.

One person went to the door of McD's turned and followed the other 8 toward A & W.
My thought was they changed their mind about eating at McD's.

Wrong, All 9 one after the other walked past the counter and directly to the washroom at the same time.
In the course of 10-15 minutes no one came out and I needed refill of coffee ,so I went to the counter for it near the door they came in.
Before I went for a refill ,Michele stated she needed to go to the washroom right away,. while waiting a few came out ..one out the other door and a couple past me ..headed back to the van.
I continue to wait for a refill...

Keeping my eye on Michelle ..she was came back from the washroom door and waited near the other door.
That's where she had her accident...she waved to me she is going to the car as I see she had an accident.

Finally 3 of the last 4 came out and walked by me just about to push the door open and leave.
That's when I mentioned how rude they were for 9 people to come into a restaurant to ONLY use the washroom facilities.... prevent my wife (a paying customer) from using it when she was in dire need .....and for them to not even patronize the place by buying at least a cup of coffee.

The women hardly even reacted ....but anything that was said was just straight forward and not with a vengeance.

That's when the cashier called the manager telling him I was harassing his customers.

Also note:The restaurant was pretty full at that time.
At least 35 people.
Everyone who needed it had to wait for these 9 to leave before using the potty.

Maybe this will happen to you sometime when you need to have an urgent bowel movement and you have to stand in line behind 10 trucker's that don't eat oatmeal?
