Kudos To You!

I've seen several responses on here that says you were wrong for saying anything to the ... I hate to degrade the species by calling them women but the choicest names are not allowed in here.... anyway... I know I already said I'd'a marched my happy TEXAS self right up in there and if saying something polite didn't do the job I'd'a got the job done otherwise. You can't teach those who are unwilling to learn so sometimes you just have to beat them into submission though it's pretty sad people have to be beaten into common courtesy. I hate confrontation but I have also come to a point in my life where I'm done bein walked on whether it be by men, coworkers, or bathroom hogs, I don't care!

Your wife is obviously a different kind of person which is not a bad thing, just different. You had EVERY right to tell them their lack of courtesy for the paying customers was inconsiderate given the situation. Now if you hadn't had your wife there, it'd be a different story a little bit cuz that'd be well.. over chivalrous.. if that makes any damn sense. They were on the way out the door and it's less threatenin to say it inside the building where others can hear you tell them they're idiots than to chase them to the parking lot and say thanks a lot for hoggin the bathroom you caused this for my wife you inconsiderate *whatever you feel necessary here cuz I wldn't have been very nice with it*

I also saw somewhere someone said something about going to the manager to ask him to do something about it in the first place well... you know what, not everyone wants to make a big deal out of something that could be an embarrassin situation for themselves, instead they just hope the situation will resolve itself without confrontation at all. It's 100% understandable to feel that way and I don't think anyone should fault you for not asking the manager first. I am of the mind that it wldn't have mattered anyway cuz if the fool cld even understand what you said in the first place, he likely wldn't have done diddly abt it.

I've emailed McD's a couple times and the direct owners of a Subway chain here after they served raw meat (they don't even cook their meat, it's precooked and the idiots didn't check it before they put it on the sandwich) and have gotten responses quickly in both cases. McD's emailed me back, mailed me some coupons and notified the manager of that specific location who called my house and thanked me for letting them know there was a problem because customers are the only way they find out that somethings not working right. The Subway owner emailed me back, apologized for the poor quality, mailed me some coupons and thanked me for letting him know his vendor was sending out bad stuff. When I called the companies before I got an apology and that was it. Check and see if they have an email on their website and try it too because it seems to work better for me than any other method at getting a response. Why the method should matter blows my mind.

I personally applaud you dude. Straight up for standing up for your wife and being there for her. Some might say a bathroom in a fast food joint is a trivial thing but being the empathetic soul I am, I can readily imagine just about any variation of feelings she might have gone through and I just don't see a ounce of positive in this anywhere for her except where you stood beside her which is something not all men would do and makes it even more special.

Kudos man, 100% kudos. I hope you eat that manager for breakfast because it doesn't sound like he has a lick of common sense either.

But this kind of thing is going on everywhere.I noticed a certain group of people that tend to gravitate to the entrance of stores to 'visit',thereby blocking the entrance.Me in my former life have cleared out the blockage and this gave me that Patriotic glow along with my WWF fix for the week, but this is'nt my job and few people will step up to the plate with the roto router tool.So ya,double Kudos for gettin in the managers face. That is sorely lacking in this country today.

Dennis,

You rock bro. On a couple different levels. Number 1 showing how much you love Michele. I know, getting sappy on a tough guy web site, but it's been said a few times allready and I just want to echo those comments. You were spot on in confronting those toilet hogs, the manager and his back pocket butt licker need to go. I've been in the customer service world a little and yes they say the customer is always right but there are times when you have to tell them to take a sweet suck on a rolling donut and hit the road. I hope A&W is taking care of the problem up there. I do the same thing most everyone else has said in this post. If I need to stop and pee somewhere, well, I've just created a void that needs to be filled, so I'll pick up a coffee or water or whatever as a token of my aPEEciation. Those porcelian porkers where inconsiderate and should have been confronted. You done the right thing. So again bro, my hat's off and my 100 % support. You were 100 % spot on and did it all for your Mrs and that is what matters the most!

Rich

3 were purty good, especially the one that walked around the outside of the building.

The 3 that I talked to were average.

Nothing to write home about.
One made a comment about me being being fat.

All fast food restuarant bathrooms are not the same.McD's is notorious for having filthy b.r.'s,you walk in dry footed and walk out with pee prints following you.The sinks, you don't even want to use them,so ya stick your foot up there to turn the faucet on and off and use your knee to start the air dryer and try to remember not to touch your knee again. Then you realize that even if the staff washes their hands.....!Yuck!!Burger King is actually pretty good:by and large you don't have to step into a furry puddle(not poodle) to do your business. The Hardees here in N. FLa is so clean you walk out feeling like your ready to go to work in the Operating Room,it's almost uplifting!Have'nt been to an A&W in years but obviously the words out,and women(some of 'em) are suckers for that kind of thing.See if you can clandestinely get a look at the big attraction and report back

So everyone, I got a call from the regional manager about this,.

He hasn't read this thread yet though.

A & W's stance is that I interfered with POTENTIAL or OTHER A&W LOCATION patronizing customers and that I shouldn't have said what I did could possibly upset them and hurt their feelings.

The fact that they might have bought something at an A & W once in another town or city..what I did was possibly turing them away from being an A&W customer.

I mentioned to the RM the manager threatening me and thinking what happened to Michele although sorry it happened, ...was just unfortunate......there is no need for any further discussion.

So it looks like without a personal apology to Michele & I from the Franchisee...I won't be going back.

Man Dennis, this story just makes me pissed. I do think you are one hell of a man for not doing what I would do. I probably would have got right in that managers face, and tell him right off. I wouldnt let it go either. I would probably in the end get "respect" just cause I would have no problem letting it get physical. Business's like that do not deserve anyones business, especially yours.

Head office would be getting alot of calls from me till this got settled too. I cant believe they arent throwing apologies at you!
