Dyno Graphs

Here are the Graphs for my 5 dyno runs the other day. Notice how they all look itentical. Those with lots of dyno experience. . . especially with the 7.3, tell me what you think. Thanks.

There's not much wrong with the torque curve, although it does fall off a little faster than most PSD's I've seen. Looks more like a Cummins curve.

I have no explanation for how the stock setting could be producing virtually the same power as the HP settings. I would guess you are running out of HPO on top...but even that doesn't explain why the different settings ramp up at the same rate.

What kind of shape is your clutch in? If it's smoked and slipping real bad it might be the reason. It could also explain why your HP/TQ readings are so low compared to your sig line.

clutch

The clutch is fine. Every once in a while under super high load at high speeds I'll see it slip a very little. . . but there is no way it was slipping on the dyno.

What are you running for a fuel pump? Running out of #2 up top?

Once you measure fuel pressure, and check to see that is good, and once you get the autoenginuity you can monitor the essentials. Do you set a SES light when you do the dyno?

ses

yeah i havn't seen the SES light in a while. And it didn't show up on the dyno. I'm thinking i might have the wrong ICP in it. I broke the connector off while doing the turbos, i went to IH to get a new one, and there was confusion about which one it was. i didn't have the serial number or the base of the old one to get the part number. So we guessed off of the year. however, the new one was a little different. the body was larger. it took a larger wrench to install it. I'll have to check on that. But that and fuel pump pressure are my two biggest issues along with the HPOP itself. Kris for some reason i don't think that it would do any good to start the dyno at a higher rpm. I believe that its not measuriing exactly from speed A to B, but rather and infinite number of increments in between. The Dyno knows that through the RPM range that it will accelerate faster or slower at some points than others. . . its not a single average, but many averages.

Scott, the Fuel pump is an Aeromotive marine pump that comes with Dieselsites CPRx kit. . . more than adequete, but who knows. . . something could be causing an issue there too.
