Just wondering what the best way of cleaning the inside of the IC to remove the oil when i do my CCV mod. I was thinking of using a light degreaser mixed with water and shaking it around and then flushing with fresh water to flush out all the cleaner, then standing it up to drain/dry for a few hours in the sun.
Sounds good, I would just get some simple green or greased lightening. It just seems like aluminum is hard to clean after anything gets on it.... so it may take a strong batch. We have some neat stuff up here called "Pink Stuff" that works good.
thanks i never thought about using simple green. I have a connection with some industrial grade degreaser. But i am affriad it will be to strong and hurt the alum. any thoughts? I'll have to see if i can find the manufatures name and contact them on the usage of the product on alum.
i wanted to do it since i will be buying the truck used, and it will get me more familliar with the truck. Also i was thinking that if there was oil in the IC then it would have been enough to coat the inside all around and take away some ability to transfer heat as the oil coating would be 1 extra layer for the heat to transfer through. I'll admit tho it would probably be minimal, but i figured atleast then i know there isn't any inside it and it will make me feel better. lol
