What engine can i reasonably put in my 97 F150 besides a 4.2 ?

how would a 300 fit?

I don't suspect that it would be super hard to do the 300. I'd get a donor 96 if I could. That would give you a 300, the mounts, the trans, the rest to make it work. The closer to the 97 the better. Otherwise you need to get good at fab work. The length of the 300 is gonna be the hardest thing to deal with. Get past that and the motor mounts and it should be relatively easy.

 

probably the easiest swap would be a 4.6 or 5.4, being they were factory options
