Just got back from the dealership and and oil change. On 5-13 my WIF light came on and I had them check it today as well and if there is a problem with water to drain it and replace fuel filters. Call to check status of truck and it is over in service dept. (from fast lane oil change). Service tech tells me they changed out fuel header which was causing the problem. So here is the question- do fuel filters need to be changed as part of this fix under warranty or is that(fuel filters) out of my pocket? Sure would be nice to get back the $140 for the parts and labor.
How much did the fuel header replace cost? Had the same problem with WIF light dealership told me it was fuel header not the sensor. Also not under 100k warranty. Quoted $360.00 to replace, I said now thanks. Any of yall know if it is something that should be changed real soon?

I know the fuel pump is but not sure about the fuel header. I don't think the part you need to replace is that much--sounds like they're charging you for the pump and all instead of just the WIF sender. Sounds like you were smart declining the repair.
I bought the truck used with 89K on it. I put about 8 or 9K on it and the WIF light came on. I drained the HCFM or what ever it is light still on. So I changed the filters, light off... for about 11k miles then back on. drained it again same result, changed filters again the looked real good, and light went off, that is when i took it in to have the sensor checked, yesterday they told me it was not the sensor but the fuel header and $360.00 please. The truck seems to run great so maybe I will have it done some day when i have an extra chunk of cash laying around.
I was just reading on another thread that it is just the housing where the four fuel lines and the drain plug are. Hard to belive if that is true that it would cost that much. The dealership told me that the sensor inside of it would be covered in the 100k warranty how can the housing itself not be?
I think you can change the whole mess for less than that with a fuel line tool and some wrenches. Tool is about 6 bucks at advance. If you're an electrician it should be a breeze. Lots easier than wiring a main for sure--LOL.
