I need help. I serviced my 97 F250 7.3L, changed oil, filter, fuel filter, air filter. Found the fuel heating element broken inside the fuel filter bowl, replaced it a coupe of days after. Now it will not start. No smoke, only cranks over. I keep a battery charger on the batteries. I did not know the heating element unplugged from the inside, so I removed the valve on the left side of the fuel filter housing to attempt to unplug the fuel heater. I just moved it off to the side. I cleaned the screen that is there. I put it back together and have no leaks. I loosened the fuel line at the head and have fuel coming out when cranking and did the same with the oil line and I have oil there as well. I checked all the fuses with a test light and they all check out good. I replaced all the mega fuses anyway just to try something. I plugged in my code reader and have no codes at all, including while cranking. The truck ran the day I serviced it. Any help would be great. Thanks Andy
There is a valve on the FPR that looks like a valve stem on your wheel. Use a stick style tire pressure gauge to check the fuel pressure while someone is cranking the engine.
On the picture below you will see a valve to the left of the sensor in the middle. Unscrew the cap and if you don't have a pressure gauge then use a stick type tire pressure gauge while cranking. Should be ~ 20 PSI or more when cranking.
