Well, I reached the 30k mark with my truck and decided to change the fuel filter while I was changing the oil... this has led to me learning two things
1. The fuel filter for an '06 5.4 FFV is different than the standard 5.4 which really isn't a big deal (other than another trip to the parts store)
2. and where I need help... If you break the small blue plastic clip in the fuel line from the tank to the filter shown in the "How to replace your fuel filter" link below the entire fuel line must be purchased from Ford ($130.00+). I have checked with the "chain" auto parts stores and no one services this part that I have been able to find...
Does anyone know of a place that services this part?
What filter did you get to replace it? I used a Wix 33595 on my '04 non FFV when I did mine and if I recall correctly it had new clips that came with it..I didnt need to use them and dont recall if they were identical, but I got it from O'Reilly's, may want to take your clip down there and see if it matches...worth a shot.
Thats the filter I had originally which is not the correct size for the FFV engine and the clip I have broken seems to be an issue for others based on the searches I have been making...
If I remember correctly you can get the clips thru Napa. If I rember the posting they where $35. I broke mine on my truck. It didn't leak at all. I knew someone who worked for the supplier that makes the fuel bundles and was able to get 5 of the clips free from them.
Thanks for the replys however, I am still stuck with this one... I spent 4 hours yesterday at two Ford Dealers, Napa, Advance Auto & O'Reilys with the same results... No one kind find the clip or a part number for it.
I did some research yesterday (via the internet) and found the following part number which my Ford dealer could not confirm or deny that it was the correct part number 7L3Z-9A317-B which according to my local dealer again has been changed to 7L3Z-9S317-B.
If Napa did have it does anyone know the part number or how they found it?
Motown... would you be willing to supply me with the manufactures name that makes this part for Ford? Maybe I could track it from that direction...?
The supplier is Cooper Standard. But I dought they will sell any to you, due to leagal reasons. I had a connection, as I was a supplier Quality Eng for one of the big 3 and knew someone at Cooper Standard and he tracked the plant down that made the fuel bundles and had them send me some.
