Can't do the 350. Has to be Ford. Don't make another mistake!

Uh oh...another "darksider". There are quite a few of you around here. Prepare to get teased a little for using the wrong brand of drivetrain.

While FTE is undoubtedly the best site on the web for Ford truck info, there is a considerable majority here that believe in only Ford drivetrains. While I have a Ford 351C in my 56, many of our members also run Chevy drivelines with no complaint....except the heckling they get from other FTE members.

The admin here puts up with the ribbing, as long as it doesn't decend into "which is better" arguments.

Bottom line: it's your truck. Build it your way.
Welcome to FTE!!!

Well said. That is what I meant about the teasing in my above post.

Be not afraid, Grasshopper, for you do not walk alone among us. There are a handful of us darkest of darksiders, we try to blend in most of the time unless specific help is needed. Just don't try to convert the devoted for then the administrators will smite thee.
If it is to be a cruiser rather than a lawn queen you might want to rethink the airbags unless you are prepared to shell out the big bucks for a computerized leveling system.
Check out the articles and specs tab at the top of the page, just scroll over the late model stuff and you'll find a weath of useful info on things like what rear ends fit with the least amount of hassles and have useful gear ratios, various suspension swaps (The Jag conversion is not documented there but is fast gaining popularity for price, ease of swapping, and ride/handling quality. You might want to do a search here on Jag, IFS, front suspensions, etc for tons of info. This is a VERY active site with lots of hands on experienced people who are real enthusiasts and always willing to help.

That's what I'm hoping it will look like by the end of the year.
