All great info guys. I really appreciate it. Im gonna do this mod this coming week and I'll post some pics and a detailed write up on it. Im gonna put it on the dyno and see if there is truely a performance gain, maybe just wishful thinking but we'll sure find out.
Okay here goes, My question is with plumbing the vent in to the exhaust. I have two exsisting ports I can use, but they enter the exhaust at 90 degrees. The first one is a exsisting port for a EGR temp sensor that is post turbo at about 6-8 inches and the other is a port on a after market cat. The cat is gutted and so it is full flow, but it does have a entry port on the side that is used for with an air pump. I could get both ports to hook up easily. So would these ports work well? Would there still be a vaccum or could it possible back up the other way? I think that this would be okay, but not sure
I thought about that as well, but my concern would be the amount of heat that is right off the turbo causing the heater hose to melt. I am thinking it needs to go much further downstream.
Yes you will want to go farther down stream than both the down pipe and the cat. not only will the entry angle hurt it but if you put it in the gutted cat there is alot of turbulance in there that could also cuase problems. I would put it in atleast a foot down stream of that Cat.
