Fpr Question

I was looking over the Fuel Pressure Regulator while the motor was running. I noticed a leak coming from the sending unit thing with the wire connector ( not sure what it is called) that screws into the FPR.
It wasn't very tight so I did tighten a bit. I did not torque much at all if any. How tight is it supposed to be? And is there a replacement part for this or a rebuild kit for the FPR?

Thanks All !!!!

If you tightened it and it doesn't leak you fixed it just keep an eye on it. No torque specs I have heard of. There are replacement parts and maybe a rebuild kit. Others will chime in for that info.

I really didn't want to over tighten it, the threads were only half way threaded. It still leaks a bit.

is the sending unit itself leaking or is it leaking from the threads?

I am sure it is leaking from the threads. I am concerned about damage to the threads if I over tighten it.

Several bone yards just down the road. I will try the yellow teflon to see how that does.

Thanks

70, that is a vacuum switch for the water in fuel light. It's a high failure part on our trucks. tjbeggs gave me an international part # so I could get it from them for about $15 or something like that. But I was too late and went to Ford for $70.....doh!!!! Do yourself a favor, go to international and get a new one, ones from the bone yard are gonna be questionable due to the fact that they probably never saw ULSD which is what's causing most of our fuel leaks as of late. (at least in my opinion) Just FYI

Ask for the Fuel filter Ristricted sensor.
Here's the part #:

It's on the filter housing 94/95; on FPR block 96/97
(Ford) E8TZ-9S283-A
(International) 1809435c1

BTW: The WIF sensor is located on the very bottom of the filter housing.

Jim, I thought it was either on the bottom or FPR block on the years you said too. But when I was having issues with mine, I stuck a used switch/sensor on my FPR block and my WIF light came on. And I don't remember having one on the bottom of my fuel bowl. Is there a different looking one down there that I missed?

And thanks for the part #'s, I never have those.....

Duck, Here's the only thing I have that tells me what is what. The Restricted filter sensor (Vacuum) isn't listed but.......Maybe you have an older filter housing or the wires in the dash are crossed. Strange?? IDK.
