Cowboy Steve
P.S.- Tim did you hear about my new idea I got brewin?
be prepared to spend 4 times more for half the boost! but more power to ya! By the way supercharged diesel are old school. many old two stroke detroits were supercharged turbo engine. a supercharger feed a turbo then into the engine
compound turbos will be much easier and much more cost effective. plus not too many people have them so you will still be unique! better plan on head studs maybe even fire rings and rods. and depending on your boost level lower compression pistons!
Yeah, I figuered I'd go with Hypermax's headstuds, head gaskets and connecting rods. I'll throw their hot cam in as well while i im in there. The rings and pistons I was gonna have BDP do. *****ty thing is that im gonna have to pull the motor but im gonna do new uppies while im in there as well as the HPOP. long list but thats the best time to do it. Im starting my collection of parts. Where can i get an HTB4 turbinator? What motor does that come on?
is there any issue of exhaust pressure being higher than the crankcase pressure and back feeding fumes up the hose? just a thought, i dont know
we have been dealing with crank case breather issues on the CAT engines for the last few years and the new 07 stuff is probably going to need attention. if you go two turbos, steve, you might end up with the same issues-raising crankcase pressures by boost getting though shaft seals and on through turbo oil drains, causing oil carryover into the breathers. that's what happened on the CAT engines when they went two turbos. i would just run the hose far enough back to clear the cab. it would drip a bit of oil but my engine does that anyway, but i like the idea of dumping it in the exhaust. the epa would like that too IF any of us actually still had cat cons haha.
if you install the pipe in the exhaust with the opening facing the tail pipe you can create a venturi effect for the fumes. that way no pressure would be going the wrong way
