Anyone ever try them or hear them? Looking to put something on a 87 with a 351. Other than the fact that they are a rpoduct for sale, I cannot find anything else more about them. I know this probably belongs in the exhaust forum but Its already here now so...please help. Thanks.
i cant imagine they sound to much different than a flowmaster. go to jegs.com and go to their exhaust section click on mufflers and go to flowmaster section and click on the 40 series (not delta flow) and there are some sound clips i ran a 40 series flow on my truck and it sounds awsome peple will know who you are when you run a solid 3 inch exhaust and a flowmaster with a 3 in tailpipe kit.
I never used the Hush Thrush but I did use Thrush glasspacks on a CJ-5 with a 365 hp small block and fenderwell headers and loud does not even begin to describe it. I used the ones that were made to bolt right to the header collectors.
If you go to thrushexhaust.com and click products its the first one that comes up if that helps. They do have a sound clip. Sounds like a small block dodge and doesnt sound to bad. I may call them up and see xactly what the exhaust is that made that sound clip. It does sound similiar to a flowmaster.
i dont think they will rust out as much as they used to i know that the superturbos will but the new welded mufflers are that bad because they are made just like the flowmasters that they sell at autozone. just aluminized steel but they are still a 2 chamber muffler that im pretty sure they would sound pretty close to a flowmaster. just dont buy the super turbos i have one and i hate it im waiting for it to rust to pieces so i can get a magnaflow like what is on dads dodge it sound great.
I had what we called "straight-thru Thrush" on my '71 GTO in HS and they sounded awesome to my 16 year-old ears. I might not appreciate them as much now that I am 30 years older. I had Hush Thrush (one of the first "turbo" mufflers) on my '70 442 in college and they sounded real nice, no brap like the straight ones. I didn't know they still made any of those.
Talk about bringing back the "old days" ! I got my Thrush muff's from JC Whitney!! I think they went into business right after Mr. Ford started his assembly line! LOL
