Just debating wether I should take them off or replace them with larger ones and where to find them for a 6 inch lift.

every time I've ever removed them from any vehicle, the vehicle reacted like a drunk strolling down broadway. all over the place with tons of body sway. great off-road for when you want the suspension to act like a slinky...dangerous and scary on the highway in a 8,000 lbs+ rig

many time guys install a lift with new, stiffer springs and it fells like you don't need a sway bar anymore. Not true!

as far as the lift, unbolt your front links and bolt them to the bottom of the frame. that will account for up to a 4" lift. many lift companies also sell longer links. unless you are into truly hauling heavy over long distances, the OEM sway bars are decent.

here is a picture of how to re-arrange the sway bar link mount on 99-04 models to account for extra lift up front. you can see where it was previously inside the frame rail. All I did was unbolt and move to the bottom of the frame rail. worked great

Front sway bars are mandatory. Rear...not so much.

If you use the truck bed for hauling loads you are going to want the swear bar hooked up as when loaded without being hooked up you are going feel the difference.
