TRANSFER CASE and TRANSMISSION IDENTIFICATION.?

Anyone know of any websites and or places i can go to find out what year my transfercase and transmissoion are.. please help... my email is brettstgermain@yahoo.com my truck is a 72 f250 but here are all the numbers i have found on the truck.. on the transfercase. the numbers are (3 FF (10 7 71 this looks like a tag)), c23-13-8, G24-15-4 and the model number is A1TWN2E with an assembly number of 35509 A69. and on the trnasmission the numbers i found are ... C-96391-S and what looks like a stamped in the block tag 3-27 and some funky A kinda like symbol and a 4 next to it.. this is on the passenger side of the tranny and on the other side the numbers C96391 on the other side.. any help would be apreciated. -Brett

well my truck is titled a 72 the body n fact is a 74 and my motor is a 79.. so does that count at a 73-79 the only thing that is a 72 is my chassis... but thanks for the help. -Brett

Not really. That's where some people make the mistake.

They think that because the truck kind of fits into a group of years forum doesn't mean the actual Topic Pertains to that Particular forum.

This thread for example.

That's why the specific "Drivetrain" system forum.

It covers ALL years of trucks.

You see ,your question was specific Part Identification topic that are drivetrain parts. It has nothing to do with the year of truck.


Not everyone realizes that there are numerous people that visit this Busy Popular forum ... visit other forums that happen pique their interest as they have done say,....a lot of Drivetrain work and they go there to answer questions.


Please Don't be upset if someone re-directs you to another forum because in practically every case.. they are just trying to guide you to the BEST place for answers.
