help with identifying

hello ya'll. i needs help on identifying a 4 speed on a 74 250 and transfer case. the trans has cast numbers in it and here's what i read (DRIVERS SIDE) C96391 (PASSENGER SIDE) C-5391-S (TAILSHAFT) C1417. now for the transfer case there is no cast numbers or ident plate(was there but now missing). it is a divorse set-up. any help with this would be very helpful. thank you

Not sure what the numbers mean, but I still might be able to help. The transmission is probably an NP435 made by New Process. If it has an aluminum cover on the top where the shifter mounts then it is most likely a 435. If it has a cast iron cover then it probably is a Borg Warner T18. The Tcase is probably an NP205 made by New Process. If you look at the case from the rear and there is a small round cover held on by three bolts in the middle between the rear output and the cover behind the front output then it is an NP205. If it has an aluminum housing and tailshaft at the rear output then it is an NP203. Hope this helps.

74 HIGHBOY, I also own a 74 High Boy, and mine definately has the NP 435 and NP 205 transfer case from the factory. Just like Velcro 7279 said, look for the aluminum housing on top of the tranny, and the small round cover on the rear of the T-case with 3 bolts
