It still may be a fuel starvation issue that is not related to fuel type. Since the fuel rails are a dead end system, there have been confirmed tests that the back injectors encounter fuel pressure drops, which can lead to starvation under load. Bowtie had mentioned this also. I know it was also a problem with the 7.3L and there was a fuel line balance kit developed that worked very well. For the 6.0 LIPD has a fuel line balance kit now available to help eliminate the problem also. If i remember correctly the kit is about $100.

Just trying to put some ideas and information out so that hopefully we can pinpoint the cause and all can learn and hopefully improve there trucks and prevent or reduce future injector failures like this from happening.
Thanks Blackhat.
I'm looking into a fuel pressure gauge and see where that takes me if anymore injectors go out.
I may look into that line kit also if my pressure is ok.

I wouldn't mind the problem and having them replaced a couple at a time but I hate being stuck on the side of the road with a trailer in tow. Been there Done that Not fun at all.

Talked to tech today and found that it was cylinders 3 and 7 . So what do you guys think with those being the bad ones ? He said they have had some with 1 or 2 being bad and not having a problem with more. He also said that latest flash seems to be the best one for the injectors . So its got the newest flash and 2 injectors and see what works out from here . I'm going to order the fuel pressue gauge and go from that.

The crossover line may not help out with pressure but it seems to balance the system, dampen some injector pulsation and quiet the injectors a little. There was a recent thread about the crossover mod. See it here https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/5...ine-mod-2.html

Well that is interesting. #7 is at the end of the run but not #3. So leads me to believe that maybe you just had a couple of bad injectors (let's hope this is the case). Time will definitely tell.
Yes i have heard nothing but good things about the new flash for helping the injectors last longer.

Well time did tell and with only 61 miles it started missing again. This time it was number 5 injector . Wonder how long before number 1 goes out ??

This is the last time before I have the other 5 replaced if it happen again.

I can get 4 on e-bay for 100 bucks each.

Dealer said its not a fuel problem and that its just one of those things that happen.

Don't worry Matt, remember what your doing in your signature, that should make you feel better in the wake of all of this, no matter what the cost. It's probably just a coincidence, cause its all un-substantiated anyway, and you didn't read about it here or anywhere else, so it is truely probably just a coincidence.

i wonder how they check the fuel pressure? because the pressure could be different depending on rpm and load , I was thinking this while i was going 85 mph down the highway with 4.10 rear end, if i have a fuel pump that will put out the proper psi at idle but then lower it output when i get more load at higher rpms your thoughts?........... maybe they should check fuel pressure while on a dyno.
