Last week driving 60 mph my 05 f250 died like turning the key off. Pulled over and it started right back up. Did this a couple more times before I made it to work and still dieing 3 or 4 times for the first 15 minutes every time I drive it. But it always starts immediately after.
Got the codes today. #4 injector circuit high. unplugged the injector and as expected got #4 injector low code. Left the injector unplugged, started the truck and it stayed running. Let it completely cool down and drove it 2 more times today without any shutting down. It hasn't done done that in a week.
My question: Does the injector circuit high code mean that the injector coil is grounded and could this ground be causing a short or a problem that would cause the engine to shut down?
Changed #7 injector and fuel filters a month ago and have no other codes. Other than these 2 injectors and the STC fitting 6 months ago, trucks been running great with 266,000 miles.
Yes, I had a Genesis hooked up and watched the live data for a couple days. FICM steady at 48 volts.
Drove the truck to work today with the injector unplugged and truck ran good except for the slight chug from running on 7 cylinders. Stopped at the Ford dealer and picked up a new injector on the way home.
