Yeah hopefully, have you read up on that stuff at all? Sounds like there is going to be some cool new trucks coming out by ford. By that time diesel will allreaddy be more then the price of gas though!

Chevy had deisels in their trucks back in the 70's. I worked on a81 1/2 GMC with one and you still see them driving around. Ford I do not recall having them in the 1/2 tons. It about time though.

Chevys 6.2 diesel was a deadly motor. Why they ever went away from that motor I will never know. Ford needs one similiar to that in their half tons.

Ford will kill it with two much HP and people will whine about poor mileage. just like NOW!

would be nice to have a real lowdown diesel that returned some really great mileage

power is nice, but so is mileage, there are other things i'd rather drive with high HP than an F150. if i'm gonna drive it every day, i want that mileage, on the weekends i'll drive something with high HP

Milleage in the end it is nicer to be in the mid 20's and for horsepower, big whoop unless you're pullin daily. All I want is something that starts day in and day out, preferably something loud, unique, and I can pull up to a stop light and say, yeah it's got a flathead. hehehe (opps did I say that?)

Some vehicles seem to have decent power and still some fuel economy like the 88 5.0 Cobra I had, the power was nice and geting 30 mpg on a trip was very good I thought.
Not exacty awesome but for the amount of power it was great.
My 90 Crown Vic would do about the same on a trip but not that much for power, alot heavier car though.

my 4.6 does it for me all around. good power, decent mileage(for a truck) and just plumb comfortable to drive. i hear ya on the uniqueness thing ryan. i put dual straight pipes w/glasspacks on my '96 300ci. now that's unique
