What does the J in axle code 17J stand for?

What does the J in axle code 17J stand for?
I am trying to find out more about my truck, 73 f100 302-2v, 2wd, 3spd. The axle code is 17J. I have found out the 17 means 3.25:1 ratio, 9 inch, 3300#. I cannot find out what the J means even after looking at other websites. How do I find out if it is limited slip or posi etc.? I think it's limited slip. Any ideas?

J = Power Steering.
Don't ask me why they(Ford) couldn't have made it so it would have its own spot on the rating plate.
L/S axles are denoted by a Letter and number like
H2,H4 or H8.

Ford's use the words *Traction-loc*, or *Limited Slip* to describe their locking rears.
