I Better Back-track A Little
I just went out and fiddled with it some.
I was thinking wrong about the off-set of the door-key shank being different from the ignition key.
It is my 1985 that is like that.
The 1972, the ignition key will insert in the door cylinder, it just will not turn in the door cylinder; so, the key shank offset will be the same.
It sounds like most everyone else, with a 72, has one key to do both.
I tried both doors and NO GO.
I am going to experiment with the key blank and file trick.
If that fails, I will get the cylinder numbers and go the locksmith route.
