I need your Help :)
Dear God,
Please help my father overcome his latest problems so I can have at least another year with him, if it is in your will. If not, please help ease his pain, put his mind at rest, and send an angle to keep the evil ones away. In Jesus's name.
Amen.
He was a Man of the earth and believed in Darwin's Theory of Evolution.
It was by the grace of Physical condition and medical treatment that he had the strength to go another 13 years after the 1st bout of cancer.
Anything that happened after his body stopped working will be between him,the Crematory, and what every else is possible.
That's why there was no mention of God in my earlier posts.
Instead ,I asked real people who live and breathe good thoughts.
It would have been hypocritical to ask for God's help.
and that's all the God talk on this thread thanks.
We are all still sad for your loss. Me... especially because I know what cancer can do to a body, after watching a strong man like my dad, slowly devoured by that horrible disease and the suffering and pain involved. Not all cancers are the same, but in the end it makes no difference.
We continue to wish you well and to heal & go on, in whatever manner you can.
Today was heart felt day dealing with all his clothes and personal property and legal matters.
I tell you is sure help when all those affected are amiable to each other during the process.
Here is his official Obit if you want to read it as it is different than the other one.

I have been receiving letters of condolence from people from all over Canada and some US places.
I'd like to share one that came from some people (whom I met in 1987) who had known my Dad since they were teenagers.....it is a real tear jerker.

Tribute:
Dear Folks, Please accept our sympathy at this most difficult time. I have known and respected Howard since his days managing the Revelstoke Lumber Yard at Vanguard, just after the War. Being a teenager at that time, it was always exciting to watch him play hockey with our local team -- outclassing everyone on both teams with his skill and determination. What an athlete, whether it was hockey, or baseball in season. In addition, he fitted right into the Vanguard community, successfully fulfilling the numerous responsibilities that he undertook while he was a resident. Years after leaving Vanguard, we both ended up in Calgary and were in contact on various occasions over the years. To me, he will always remain a role model and one of the truly "good guys" whom I have been privileged to know. May God give you comfort at this time. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Sincerely, Bob Wilkinson and Marguerite. P.S. to Dennis: At the Vanguard reunion in 1987, you have Robert Sparling (Sparky) and me on your video at the dance, saying "hello" to your Dad. Sparky passed away last December
Dad was once the Mayor, Fire Chief & Local DIY'er Mechanic
One of the greatest things I had every enjoyed was to watch some WWII military news footage of My Dad playing hockey in England backing up Hockey Great's like Milt Schimdt, Bobby Bauer & Porky Dumart.
I was able to order some of that footage from the Hockey Hall of Fame but it has disintegrated badly.
My Dad always talked about those vertical posts in the ice that held the roof up were like a 3rd defenseman sometimes.

As Mother's Day nears and since the recent loss of my Dad I have been reflecting on the life with my both my parents.I would like to share with you the tribute my youngest Sister gave at his graveyard service. She made it awfully difficult for me to follow with words of my own as summed up our Dad's life that we shared in quite good detail.
