Just got in and caught up...my deepest condolences. In time you will know truly you did it right. You've been a good example to all.
To our dads Dennis, gone but never forgotten..
"There's a long, long trail, a-winding
into the land of my dreams.
Where the nightingale is calling,
and the white moon beams.
There's a long, long night, a-waiting
until my dreams all come true;
That's the day that I'll be going,
down that long, long trail with you."
--Stoddard King (lyrics) and music by Alonzo "Zo" Elliott; 1915
I emailed my condolences, my friend, but still wish to publicly say that my heart is with you and your family. My dad has been gone for so many years that I can't remember. All I know is I am at the age he was when he passed. If I make it through this year, I will count every day as a blessing....or a curse...unless my luck changes and the Lord decides to favor me. I still miss him and miss the things we never did together, when I was young and had the chance, but lived my own life instead. I hope the young people here, regardless of their closeness to their parents, spend more time with them NOW, while they still can, before it's too late and they can't.
I know He has favored you and yours, in this time of loss. Hang in there, my friend, you have a lot of people here who care about you.
For anyone interested in read in his obit.
