We carry both the Black and Blue CPS (Free shipping). I keep 2 in my truck, one for me and another for a Found On Road Dead Friend Truck!

Thanks Kwik,

Any idea on what the problem is I'm having with that? Some of my old posts written on a diffferent comp had the same issue. As a side note, the new cps is in. You all were way off. It took me longer to pick up my tools and walk out to the truck than to actually change it out. Being so high off the ground also helped. One problem I did have was breaking off the connector fromt he old one. I was looking up at the cps, hood open, slight sunlight, and couldn't get a good angle for the screwdriver to pop it out.

Thanks to everyone here for posting such great stuff. I couldn't have done this, or an of the other things with out eveyone

Check out ebay - I think they are on there for $50
Funny thing is I know of 5 guys locally with 7.3s (many more than that but these I know well enough to say this about) including mine, and mine has the least miles of any of them at 112,000 miles most is the tow truck at last I heard 325,000 miles and as of yet none of them have had the cps go out. It's something I sure can't figure out why some are going out and some have never gone out.

Also I asked the ford dealership if they had one getting a price, and even though this is a rural farming type community and there is several running around owned by farmers etc they don't replace or sell enough of them to warrent keeping them in stock, and the last one he sold turned out to not be the problem at all it was the oil preasure regulater instead (think thats right)

Edit to add: I am not saying or discouraging carrying a spare by any means, as it's obviously a problem, I just have to wonder if it's something else causing these to go out like weather, humidity temps what, just seems strange that locally right around me no one has actually had to replace one that I know of for sure.

Same thing happened to me last weekend, and all I could think of was me posting on a poll how my rig had 163,000 and the original CPS. 165,000 and I just got my replacement from ebay yesterday. I will now carry a spare!

shoulda shoulda ...... aaawww. You already did <s>

Couldn't wait from ebay, SO I called around a little. Same dealer who quoted me 149, requoted it at 103.00 I might pick up two, and return one back to the dealer if the packaging is oem.
