That may not be the way you know of it being done, or the way that you do it if YOU are a Line-X dealer, but that is EXACTLY the way that I was told that it would be done with my own truck by a line-X dealer! I was told that "Paint" would have to be bought, and that that it was a hit or miss for the paint to match. Otherwise, I would have had a beige Line-X liner done a month ago..... This is my first new vehicle in my life, and I"m not taking a chance. NO PAINT........Don't get me wrong, I don't have an axe to grind with Line-X, as it is still my first choice, but ONLY in black. My brothers have black LIne-X liners, and love them.

the problem is the resin in the liner is not clear, so it is a little difficult to get a "perfect" match. Did you ever see a car that was repainted from a crash and notice a slight color difference. The Rhino Linings dealer says they will get it as close as is humanly possible. Black is the best color for all around use. It is easiest to repair if damaged and the most stable of all color. Rhino Linings does offer color match and it is very very close to the truck color as does the other company. The new Rhino Solar Max is very good but does not come in metallics, the Tuff Grip does come in any color including metallics. But if you use your truck for any real work, stick with black
BTW, LINE-X Xtra Neutral is clear. Dupont pigments are added according to the factory paint code's formula to get to the exact color. The only difference is that the truck's paint is smooth (no texture) and is a multiple stage (base coat/clearcoat). A bedliner has a texture and Xtra provides a single stage formula. So, while the color will be the same, it obviously won't reflect light the same way as your truck.
I recently had a Reflex bedliner sprayed onto my '73 F-100. So far, I think it's great. A buddy has the Line-X and I can't see much of a difference. Right now, I'm a satisfied customer, let's see what happens in a few years, though.
