What about the stuff the ford dealer uses? Ultra or something like that, is it comparable to Line-x? The only line -X dealer close to me wants $540. to do my short bed.
I getting ready to get some kind of bed liner, and it sounds like line-x is the one. In addition to the inside of the bed, I was thinking about having about the last 9 inches sprayed all around the truck (bottom of doors and bed and about 3 inches around wheel wells) to eliminated scratches and dings in those areas. Anybody done anything like this, and how did it hold up?

Currently, there is no Ford dealer spray-on bedliner. So, it could be just about anything. Get the actual name and I'll be happy to to tell you what I know about it.

yes, ford dealer dont have any factory backed spray. It may be Ultimate Bedlining and small texas based company. The 2 best linings are either Rhino Linings or Line-x. both have similiar products. both have nationwide warranties backed by the head companies. You really want to ask, "how many liners has your guy done", the more he has shot, the better the job will be. There is a lot of finese in these spray jobs. I have rhino Lining in my 99 f250 and it has held up great
Rhino: 100% polyurethane, tear strength 145 pli, temp tolerance 175 degrees, uses a cold/low pressure application system, rather soft at Shore A 92.5, gels in 30 to 45 seconds, dries in 45 minutes, cures in 24 hours. Optional UV topcoat is called Rhino Shine. It will eventually peel off the liner and must be reapplied (the consumer can buy a bottle of it and do it themselves). It's thick and not fun to apply.
LINE-X: Polyurethane/polyurea blend, tear strength 304 pli, temp tolerance 220 degrees, uses a heat/high pressure application system (for better adhesion and a more uniform looking final texture), harder at Shore D 45, dries in 4 seconds (thus follows the bed’s contours much better), cures in 24 hours. Several UV products are available: Ultra Shield, Nason, or Xtra. All are one-time applications, Xtra is the best (made by Dupont only for LINE-X, contains a Kevlar micro pulp for extreme durability).
The spray on liner that my Ford dealer uses is called Truck Guard Ultra, by the Bodo Corporation out of Atlanta. They had F150 on the showroom floor with this thing and it looked pretty good. But then a new truck with new bed liner should look good. They charge $465.00. Anyone heard of this or any experience with it? Thanks.
I had a high pressure bed liner done by Ultimate Linings and it turned out great.
Im really happy with how I was treated by the shop and the product.
I wanted a LineX liner but our local dealer has NO customer service. They Suck!
I highly recomend Smiths Ultimate Linings in Albuquerque,NM.
Disappointed!........I was looking forward to having a deer/skull embossed into my line-x like the one in TruckDaddy's shop pictures. Come to find out today the shop I'm going to doesn't know how to do it and would rather pass than try it.
Guess if I want it done, I'd have to drive from Pa to Texas.
