Help!
I rebuilt the rear window motor with the kit and new gear but cant get the window to go back in so I can lift the tailgate!!! How to I release the tension so I can get the window in and lift my gate???

Well, if you've done all the repairs nessesary, all you should have to do is Close the latch fingers on the drivers side of the gate. (simply push them down with your thumbs till they click in the latched position) This makes the gate "think" it's closed; then insert your key in the switch, and lower the window - into the gate. THEN, pull the latch handle to re-open the 'fingers', before closing the tailgate!
Hope it works - and I hope you inspected/replaced the nylon rollers on the regulator arms... (just did mine this week)

Another thing you may wish to try is to use a paper clip to short the wire connected to the latch on the drivers side of the tailgate. It is hard to reach but this will allow the window to be raised or lowered with the door in any position. You may want to check the allignment of the door striker plate. if the striker plate is misaligned or the nylon bushing is missing or cracked it may keep the window motor from operating.
