I Need Help! Two Expeditions With Problems
Well that is good news, at least your truck will be ok now and you also know never bring your truck back to the first dealer. As for me, i just got back from the dealership and they had the same problem again this morning, the truck took a while to start. I went there and tested it but it started up fine but the guy there told me that it did to him early this morning. So now im changing all the spark plugs just to be sure.
Good thing you told me about the key sync, that may be the case with my father's truck as well. im going to have them check that as well.
Let me know how things turned out for you.
I hope it works out for you. Yeah the key synch thing kind of caught me off guard. I was a little stumped that they were able troubleshoot down to that detail. I dropped my second key off last night. They need both keys to really test and they may have to 're-program' my keys. The service manager said that they should have me finished up today. It's a good thing because we are getting snow right now and I am going to need my truck back.
I'm happy that I am getting somewhere with my truck but at the same time, I am extremely pissed because the other dealership just basically blew me off for two weeks...
Let me know if the 'key synch' tip was any help....
Key sync wasn't the case with my father's truck. They changed all the plugs yesterday and along with a COP, cleaned all the sensors and it's now running like a champ. I'm going to pick it up today. It did take a while to finish but the important thing is that it's finished.
Maybe you should write another letter to Ford telling them what happened when you brought your truck to another dealership. Hopefully they will take some sort of action, i don't blame you for being pissed. I would have reacted the same way if that had happened to me. I mean 2 weeks is a very long time! All i know is that something should be done about that dealership so other people won't experience those kind of problems.
Glad to see your Dad's truck is running smoothly now. I spoke with the Service Mgr. today working on my truck and he said that it should be ready in the morning. I also spoke to the FOMOCO Cust. Care Rep. today and she received the copy of my letter that I sent to the President of the screwed up dealership. She asked if I wanted to use that letter to file a formal complaint and I said yes. She initially had the four page letter as notes on my case but she offered up the filing of the complaint so I am taking her up on that.
As far as sending another letter, I will as soon as I get my truck back and verify that everything is fine. If everything is cool with my truck, which I am sure it is, I will send a thank you card to the Dealership that fixed it and a letter expressing even more frustration to the president of the dealership that jerked me around.
Thanks for you help and kind words and I will be in and out of this forum looking for tips and offering some. I will post with you later. Oh, I will definitely let you know the final outcome after all of the dust settles. I definitely plan on putting the word out about this dealer's service department. If the president does not contact me personally, I will definitely put them on full "blast."
