Hey guys, Its So cold here in michigan that cancelled school. Last night it went below -5 degrees! Well i got the diesel all plugged in and im just worring about gelling at this point. ITS SOO COLD! I have a little less than half a tank and some Amsoil Diesel treatment in there rite now. Will it still gell? I would go and run it but i have a bad CPS and MAP Sensor. Am i in trouble?
I don't know if the Amsoil treatment is for anti-gel, but if not you might think about picking up a white bottle of Diesel Kleen and add some of that to your tank. Do what you can to mix it up (rock the truck?) Then, just to go that extra bit, get a clean bucket and some hose for the end of the fuel bowl drain. Attach the hose and empty your fuel bowl in to the bucket. Repeat several times so that the Diesel Kleen gets in to your lines & bowl. Then pour the drained fuel back in to your tank.

I ran the white bottle DK through my New HOlland tractor and it gelled up still...so i cut her with kerosene for a blend that's about 60% diesel now...no issues.
Been cold up here in ND, -20F and below at night, and I have a full tank of straight #2 and a half bottle of anti-gel DK, and no problems with gelling. Last year it got down to -25F and I had a full tank of #2 and half bottle of anti-gel and no problems.

hmmmm, wonder if i need the kerosene....she sits outside...
BUT, here's the (almost) funny part - it was the summer blend diesel...NO WONDER WE WERE HAVING PROBLEMS LOL.
Pick up a bottle of Diesel 911 and run the tank, if it starts to loose power, like it running out of fuel then dump in the 911. On the next fill up use the Powerservice that is in the white bottle. I dont even know if it helps to be honest with you though, mine was gelling at 10 degree and lower lately and i always run the anti gel additives. So from now on i am NOT running additives, and im just going to carry the 911, if it gels, then i will dump the additives in because i am not paying 8 dollars to dump additive in then another 8 dollar when it fails. Unless when i call powerservice they give me a good reason why it still gelled.
